Cymbalta side effects include nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, decreased sex drive, sweating, fatigue, insomnia, dizziness, and headache. Other Cymbalta side effects may include anxiety, nervousness, agitation, drowsiness, tremor, blurred vision, dry mouth, decreased appetite, weight loss, cold hands or feet, and itching.

Cymbalta is a type of drug known as combined serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor (Serotonin and noradrenaline are compounds called neurotransmitters). Cymbalta is used to treat depression and generalized anxiety disorder, pain and tingling caused by diabetic neuropathy, fibromyalgia, moderate to severe stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women. SUI is the accidental leakage of urine when pressure in the bladder is increased suddenly such as by coughing, sneezing, laughing, lifting or exercise. Main ingredient in Cymbalta is Duloxetine Hydrochloride.

CYMBALTA OVERDOSE


Cymbalta overdose symptoms include nausea, vomiting, confusion, dizziness, and other heightened side effects symptoms. n case of Cymbalta overdose, seek medical help right away. If you miss a dose of Cymbalta, take it as soon as you can. However, if it is just about time for your next dose, skip the one you forgot and go on with your regular schedule. Never take a double dose of Cymbalta.

Cymbalta and Pregnancy


Cymbalta should not be used during pregnancy. Seek medical advice from your physician if you get pregnant or plan to get pregnant while using Cymbalta. Cymbalta passes into breast milk. Nursing mothers should switch to bottle-feed while taking Cymbalta.

Cymbalta Warning and Caution



As with other antidepressant drugs, there have been reported cases of people experiencing suicidal thoughts during or shortly after stopping treatment with Cymbalta. For this reason, inform your physician right away if you have any suicidal, distressing thoughts or feelings, including depressive feelings or agitation, at any time while taking Cymbalta or even after stopping treatment.

Cymbalta may cause drowsiness and may reduce the ability to drive or operate machinery.

Cymbalta may cause a sudden drop in blood pressure when moving from a lying or sitting position to sitting or standing position, which may cause dizziness, light-headedness or fainting.

In some individuals Cymbalta may cause blood pressure to increase.

Cymbalta may cause restlessness often accompanied by an inability to sit or stand still.

Cymbalta should not be stopped abruptly as this may cause withdrawal symptoms such as dizziness, needles sensations, nausea, difficulty sleeping, intense dreams, headache, tremor, agitation or anxiety. Withdrawal symptoms are temporary and are not the same as addiction. They can usually be avoided by stopping Cymbalta gradually, over at least two weeks.

Cymbalta should be used with caution in Seniors, people with decreased kidney or liver functions, manic depression, history of mania, seizures, glaucoma, high blood pressure, heart disease, and those taking anticoagulant drugs.

Cymbalta should not be given to children 18 and under.

People who have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressant medicine in the last 14 days.

People taking the drugs fluvoxamine, ciprofloxacin or enoxacin.

Rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance.

Cymbalta Interaction


The following drugs may increase the blood level of Duloxetine and should not be given in combination with Cymbalta:

Ciprofloxacin

Enoxacin

Fluvoxamine.

Cymbalta must not be taken at the same time as, or within 14 days of taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressant.

Cymbalta must not be combines with the following:

SSRI antidepressants

Tricyclic antidepressants

Venlafaxine

Tryptophan

Tramadol

Triptans for Migraine

Herb St John's wort

Antipsychotics

Narcotic painkillers

Benzodiazepines

Barbiturates

Sedating antihistamines

Sleeping pills

Anticoagulants (water pills)

Antiplatelet drugs such as Aspirin

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) e.g. Acetaminophen(Paracetamol), ibuprofen.

Cymbalta may increase the blood levels of the following drugs:

Flecainide

Metoprolol

Propafenone

Risperidone

Tricyclic antidepressants
