Tetracon: Side Effects, Overdose and Pregnancy Information
Main ingredient in Tetracon is Tetracycline Hydrochloride. Tetracon is widely used as an alternative antibiotic for
those who are allergic to penicillin. Tetracon is
considered as a broad-spectrum antibiotic, because Tetracon is used to treat
a number of bacterial infections such as amebic dysentery, cholera, Lyme
disease, upper respiratory infections, Rocky Mountain spotted fever,
pneumonia, STDs such as gonorrhea, and urinary tract infections.
Tetracon s also used to help treat severe acne (low
dosage) and pink eye (conjunctivitis). Tetracon work by preventing the growth of the invading
bacteria. This results in the body's own immunity system fighting off the
infection.
TETRACON SIDE EFFECTS
Common side effects of Tetracon may include upset
stomach, vomiting, diarrhea, and headache, rash. Rare side effects of Tetracon may include anemia, blurred
vision, dizziness, extreme allergic reactions, increased sensitivity to
light, loss of appetite, nausea, ringing in the ears, swelling due to
fluid retention, liver or kidney problems, skin eruptions, hairy tongue
and thyroid gland problems.
TETRACON WARNING
You should not take Tetracon if you are sensitive to or
have ever had an allergic reaction to any Tetracycline antibiotics in the
past.
Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease. He or she
may recommend a lower dose of Tetracon.
Avoid prolonged exposure to sun especially if you are prone to
sunburn, while taking Tetracon.
If you are taking Tetracon over an extended period of time,
your doctor will perform blood, kidney, and liver tests periodically.
Tetracon should not be given to children under 8 as
this may retard their growth and could cause permanent discoloration of
teeth.

Check with your physician before combining Tetracon with the

TETRACON AND PREGNANCY
Tetracon antibiotics should not be used during pregnancy. It may
influence the growth of the unborn baby's bones and teeth.
Nursing mothers should switch to bottle feed while taking Tetracon
antibiotics as it may pass into breast milk.
TETRACON DOSES
CHILDREN (8 and older)10-20 mg/lbs of body weight.
ADULTS250-500 mg 4 times daily.
TETRACON OVERDOSE
Symptoms of Tetracon overdose may include diarrhea, vomiting and upset
stomach.
Seek medical attention right away if you suspect Tetracon overdose.
