Main Ingredients: CODEINE-BUTALBITAL-ASPIRIN-CAFFEINE

Ascomp with Codeine is a narcotic analgesic (painkiller) and relaxant, prescribed for the relief of migraine and other tension headache symptoms that do not respond to regular over-the-counter (OTC) analgesics. Ascomp with Codeine combines a sedative barbiturate (butalbital) with codeine as the narcotic and aspirin as the analgesic.

ASCOMP WITH CODEINE CAUTION

Ascomp with Codeine is habit forming, use caution.

Ascomp with Codeine may cause mental and physical dependence if taken over long periods of time.

Use extreme caution if you are allergic or sensitive to codeine or aspirin or have asthma, other respiratory problems, stomach ulcer, or liver disease.

ASCOMP WITH CODEINE WARNING

Ascomp with Codeine may cause you to become drowsy. Do not drive or operate dangerous machinery until you know how Ascomp with Codeine affects you.

If you are being treated for severe depression or drug abuse, inform your physician before using Ascomp with Codeine.

Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems before using Ascomp with Codeine.

ASCOMP WITH CODEINE SIDE EFFECTS

Ascomp with Codeine may cause lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach ulcer or bleeding, nausea, and sleeping disturbances in the beginning. Usually these symptoms go away with use. However, if these symptoms persist or become bothersome, inform your physician.

Rare side effects include fatigue, agitation, disorientation, euphoria, constipation, insomnia, rash, diarrhea, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, and trouble breathing.

ASCOMP WITH CODEINE INTERACTION

Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Ascomp with Codeine as butalbital slows the central nervous system (CNS) and intensifies the effects of alcohol causing overdose symptoms.

Check with your physician before combining Ascomp with Codeine with the following:

Antihistamines such as Benadryl
Antidepressants
Drugs known as monoamine oxidase inhibitors
Major tranquilizers such as Valium
Muscle relaxants
Narcotic pain relievers
Sleep aids

Herbs such as catnip, hops, and Kava.

ASCOMP WITH CODEINE AND PREGNANCY

If you are or planning to become pregnant, inform your physician right away.

Nursing mothers should switch to bottle-feed while taking Ascomp with Codeine.

ASCOMP WITH CODEINE DOSES

ADULTS
The usual dose of Ascomp with Codeine is 1 or 2 tablets taken every 4 hours as needed. Not to exceed 6 tablets per day.

CHILDREN
Ascomp with Codeine is not recommended for children under 16.

ASCOMP WITH CODEINE OVERDOSE

Symptoms of Ascomp with Codeine may include coma, confusion, drowsiness, low blood pressure, shock, slow or troubled breathing, stomach ulcer, or bleeding, excess perspiration, feeling of bodily discomfort, nausea, and vomiting.

If you suspect Ascomp overdose, seek medical attention right away.
