Endafed

Main Ingredients: Brompheniramine + Pseudoephedrine

Endafed is the combination of antihistamine and decongestant (pseudoephedrine) given to treat and relieve symptoms of seasonal allergies, common cold and flu as well as upper respiratory tract.

The antihistamine in Endafed relieves the symptoms of seasonal allergies and hay fever such as itchy, runny nose, sneezing, and watery eyes as well as symptoms of allergic reactions like hives or swelling. The decongestant (pseudoephedrine) in Endafed deals with constricting the blood vessels, which in turn reduces the blood, flow to the nasal passages thereby improving the flow of air and reducing nasal secretions.

CAUTION

Use caution when using Endafed if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, prostate problems, or hyperthyroidism as it contains the decongestant pseudoephedrine.

Avoid Endafed if you have severe high blood pressure, glaucoma, or kidney disease.

Avoid taking Endafed within 2 weeks of using an MAO-inhibitor.

Avoid Endafed if you are allergic or sensitive to it.

May cause drowsiness or low concentration. Use caution when driving or operating machinery.

ENDAFED SIDE EFFECTS

Common side effects of Endafed may include drowsiness, agitation, anxiety, headache, fatigue, indigestion, and dry mouth.

Rare side effects may include nausea, nervousness, cough, stuffy nose, and throat irritation.

ENDAFED INTERACTION

Endafed should not be used within 2 weeks of using an MAO-inhibitor. Check with your physician before combining it with the following:

Beta-blockers
Mecamylamine
Methyldopa
Reserpine

Avoid Endafed if you use a pacemaker and take digoxin.

Combining Endafed with alcohol, tranquilizers, or narcotic analgesics may cause excessive drowsiness and low concentration.

ENDAFED AND PREGNANCY

Though generally considered safe, do not take Endafed without the advice of your physician if you are or planning to become pregnant.

Nursing mothers should switch to bottle-feed while taking Endafed as it does pass into breast milk.

ENDAFED DOSES

Dosages vary for each individual. Consult your physician.

ENDAFED OVERDOSE

Symptoms of Endafed overdose may include drowsiness, dizziness, nausea, nervousness, and dry mouth.

In case of Endafed overdose, seek medical help right away.
