Nebuamp: Side Effects, Overdose and Pregnancy Information
Main ingredient in Nebuamp is Budesonide.
Nebuamp is a type of orally inhaled corticosteroids given to treat
chronic symptoms of asthma.
Nebuamp should not be given during an asthma
attack as it is used as a preventive drug. Nebuamp works by preventing and
reducing inflammation in the lungs and bronchial membranes. In order to be
effective Nebuamp should be used regularly, as directed.
NEBUAMP SIDE EFFECTS
Common side effects of Nebuamp may include dry mouth, throat
irritation, and headache. Rare side effects of Nebuamp may include
cough, nausea, eczema, hoarseness, phlegm, and fungal infection of the
mouth and throat.
NEBUAMP WARNING
Nebuamp should not be used during an asthma attack.
Avoid Nebuamp if you are allergic or sensitive to corticosteroids.
Pituitary gland suppression may occur when oral corticosteroid is
combined with inhaler corticosteroid.
Inform your physician if you have tuberculosis or osteoporosis.
Corticosteroid inhalers like Nebuamp are not recommended for children
age under 6.
NEBUAMP INTERACTION
Use caution when combining oral corticosteroid with Nebuamp.
Interaction with other drugs has not yet been reported.
NEBUAMP AND PREGNANCY
As with any medicine, inform you physician if you are or planning to
become pregnant as use of large amount of corticosteroid during pregnancy
may retard fetal development.
As a precaution nursing mothers should switch to bottle-feed while
taking Nebuamp .
NEBUAMP DOSES
Children 6-12 years:
1 inhalation twice daily. Not to exceed 2 in a
day.
Adults and Children 12 and older:
1-2 inhalations twice daily. Not
to exceed 4 in a day.
NEBUAMP OVERDOSE
In case of Nebuamp overdose, seek medical help right away.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. However, if it is just
about time for your next dose, skip the one you forgot and go on with your
regular schedule. Never take a double dose.
