Percocet is used for the relief of mild to moderately severe pain. Percocet combines a narcotic analgesic (Oxycodone) with a non-narcotic analgesic (Acetaminophen). Acetaminophen in Percocet is also used for reducing fever.

Check with your physician before combining Percocet with the anti-depressant, anti anxiety drugs, cold medicines that has Antihistamines, tranquilizers, MAO inhibitors, other narcotic analgesics as well as herbal anti-depressant, St. John’s wort.


Percocet Doses



ADULTS

The usual dose is 1 or 2 tablets, taken every 4 to 6 hours as needed, up to a maximum of 8 tablets per day.
CHILDREN

Percocet is not recommended for children.

Percocet Overdose

Symptoms of Percocet overdose include bluish skin, blood disorders, cold and clammy skin, extreme sleepiness that can leads to coma, general bodily discomfort, heart problems, heavy perspiration, kidney problems, limp muscles, liver failure, low blood pressure, nausea, slow heartbeat, and vomiting. In case of Percocet overdose, seek emergency medical attention right away.
