Sudafed Side Effects Reporting

If you experience any Sudafed side effects not mentioned above you should report it to your primary health care provider or FDA 1-800-FDA-1088 in the United States, Health Canada 1-866-225-0709 in Canada, MHRA 020 3080 6000 in UK, or TGA 1800 020 653 in Australia.

Sudafed is a decongestant used to give relief from stuffy nose, runny nose, and ear congestion caused by allergies and or the common cold, or infection. Main ingredient in Sudafed is Pseudoephedrine HCl. Sudafed works by stimulating receptors in the body, mostly in the lining of the nose and sinuses, causing the blood vessel to contract. This results in less fluid to pass through into these linings. Sudafed helps relieve the symptoms of nasal congestion by reducing the production of mucous.

SUDAFED OVERDOSE

Sudafed overdose symptoms may include irregular heartbeat, rapid heartbeat, nervousness, heavy breathing, confusion, hallucinations, and seizures. In case of Sudafed overdose, seek medical help right way. If you miss a dose of Sudafed, take it as soon as you can. However, if it is just about time for your next dose, skip the one you forgot and go on with your regular schedule. Never take a double dose of Sudafed.

SUDAFED AND PREGNANCY

Do not take Sudafed without the advice of your physician if you are or planning to become pregnant.
Nursing mothers should switch to bottle-feed while taking Sudafed as it does pass into breast milk.
