Terramycin Side Effects, Overdose and Pregnancy Information
Terramycin is widely used as an alternative antibiotic for
those who are allergic to penicillin. Main Ingredient Terramycin is Tetracycline Hydrochloride. Terramycin is
considered as a broad-spectrum antibiotic, because Terramycin is used to treat
a number of bacterial infections such as amebic dysentery, cholera, Lyme
disease, upper respiratory infections, Rocky Mountain spotted fever,
pneumonia, STDs such as gonorrhea, and urinary tract infections.
Terramycin s also used to help treat severe acne (low
dosage) and pink eye (conjunctivitis). Terramycin work by preventing the growth of the invading
bacteria. This results in the body's own immunity system fighting off the
infection.
Terramycin Side Effects
Terramycin side effects include upset stomach, vomiting, diarrhea, headache,and rash. Rare Terramycin side effects may include anemia, blurred vision, dizziness, extreme allergic reactions, increased sensitivity to light, loss of appetite, nausea, ringing in the ears, swelling due to fluid retention, liver or kidney problems, skin eruptions, hairy tongue and thyroid gland problems.

Terramycin Overdose
Terramycin overdose symptoms may include diarrhea, vomiting and upset stomach. If you suspect Terramycin overdose, seek medical attention right away.
TERRAMYCIN WARNING
You should not take Terramycin if you are sensitive to or
have ever had an allergic reaction to any Tetracycline antibiotics in the
past.
Inform your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease. He or she
may recommend a lower dose of Terramycin.
Avoid prolonged exposure to sun especially if you are prone to
sunburn, while taking Terramycin.
If you are taking Terramycin over an extended period of time,
your doctor will perform blood, kidney, and liver tests periodically.
Terramycin should not be given to children under 8 as
this may retard their growth and could cause permanent discoloration of
teeth.

TERRAMYCIN AND PREGNANCY
Terramycin antibiotics should not be used during pregnancy. It may
influence the growth of the unborn baby's bones and teeth.
Nursing mothers should switch to bottle feed while taking Terramycin
antibiotics as it may pass into breast milk.
TERRAMYCIN DOSES
CHILDREN (8 and older)10-20 mg/lbs of body weight.
ADULTS250-500 mg 4 times daily.
