Main Ingredient: Naproxen
Timpron is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation. Timpron is generally used for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, menstrual cramps, muscle strains, bursitis, tendonitis, gout, and other pains. Timpron is also used to reduce fever. Timpron is available by over the counter (OTC) as well as by prescription. Timpron works by blocking and reducing the level of prostaglandis. Prostaglandins is a chemical produced in the body in response to injury and certain diseases and conditions and is responsible for causing inflammation, pain and fever.
TIMPRON CAUTION
Do not take Timpron if you have history of ulcers, colitis, bleeding disorder, asthma, high blood pressure or other heart conditions, liver or kidney condition.
In addition, you should not take Timpron if you are sensitive to or have ever had an allergic reaction to aspirin, including asthma attacks caused by aspirin.
Timpron contains sodium. If you are on a low sodium diet, consult with your physician first.
Peptic ulcers and bleeding can occur without warning.
Do not take Timpron for more than 10 days for pain or 3 days for fever.
TIMPRON SIDE EFFECTS
Common side effects of Timpron may include, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, fluid retention and swelling, heartburn, indigestion, nausea, nervousness, rash, and vomiting.
Rare side effects of Timpron may include, abdominal bleeding, blood in urine, blurred vision, changes in heartbeat, confusion, depression, dry eyes, hives, inability to sleep, kidney or liver damage, severe allergic reactions, shortness of breath, sleepiness, stomach ulcer, vomiting blood, painful urination.
Ulcers or internal bleeding can happen especially when Timpron is used for long time or in large doses.
Stop taking Timpron and contact your doctor right away if you experience abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea heartburn and or vomiting of blood as this could be a sign of serious drug reactions such as internal bleeding or ulcers.
TIMPRON AND PREGNANCY
Consult your doctor before taking Timpron if you are pregnant or nursing. Timpron should be avoided in late pregnancy.
TIMPRON DRUG INTERACTION
Always inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other
prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, including vitamins and
herbs. Check with your physician before combining Timpron with the
following:
Blood pressure medicines such as ACE inhibitors and
beta-blockers
Blood thinners
Combining other NSAID such as ibuprofen
(Advil) or Aspirin.
Lithium
Diuretics
Methotrexate
Do not combine Timpron with herbs like Garlic, Ginkgo and Ginseng.
TIMPRON OVERDOSE
In case of an Timpron overdose, seek medical attention right away.
Symptoms of Timpron overdose may include depression, abdominal pain, short breath, drowsiness, irregular heartbeat, kidney failure, low blood pressure, nausea, seizures, and vomiting.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. However, if it is just about time for your next dose, skip the one you forgot and go on with your regular schedule. Never take a double dose of Timpron.
