Viagra is prescribed to treat male sexual impotence also known as ED
(Erectile Dysfunction). Viagra was the first drug that came out for impotence.
It works by controlling the enzyme Phosphodiesterase TYPE
5(PDE5), which in turn causes higher level of Nitric oxide that dilates
blood vessels in the male organ by allowing the influx of blood needed to
sustain an erection. This medicine is effective only during sexual arousal. It does not work in
the absence of libido. For best results use this medicine approximately 1 hour
before sexual activity, though for some people as little as half hour or
as much as 4 hours are needed for it to function properly.
This medicine is effective in about 70% of men, though it is effective only
when poor blood circulation is the cause of the ED.
