Yaz side effects include abdominal pain, vaginal discharge, acne, fluid retention, bloating, blood clots, chest pain, hair loss, headache and migraine. Rare Yaz side effects include heart attack, high blood pressure, kidney problem, leg pain, nausea, sex drive changes, skin discoloration, stroke, vomiting, and weight gain or loss.

Yaz Side Effects Reporting

Yaz is used to prevent pregnancy, regulate menstrual periods as well as in the treatment of acne in women 15 and older. Main ingredients in Yaz are Drospirenone and Ethinyl Estradiol; Estrogen (low dose) plus Progestin (medium dose). Yaz is a synthetic form of female sex hormones produced naturally in the body, progestin, and estrogen. These hormones suppress the pituitary glands activity thus hindering ovulation; alter the mucus at the cervix opening to prevent sperm from entering, and their variable levels play a vital role in fertility in women.

Yaz Overdose

Symptoms of Yaz overdose may include nausea, vomiting, and withdrawal bleeding. In case of Yaz overdose, seek medical help right away. If you miss a dose of Yaz, take it as soon as you can. However, if it is just about time for your next dose, skip the one you forgot and go on with your regular schedule. Never take a double dose of Yaz.

YAZ WARNING

Avoid using contraceptives including Yaz if you are or might be Pregnant as Yaz may cause birth defects.
Avoid using Yaz if you have liver, kidney, or adrenal disease as the ingredient in it raises the potassium levels in the blood.
Avoid smoking as it enhances the risk of heart-related side effects in women who use oral contraceptives like Yaz. The risk is even greater in women over 35.
Avoid using Yaz if you have had an allergic reaction to any oral contraceptives.
Avoid Yaz if you are a migraine sufferer.
Avoid taking Yaz if you or someone in your family has ever had breast cancer or cancer of the reproductive system or liver problems.
Avoid Yaz if you have or ever had a stroke, heart disease, liver disease, chest pain, or blood clots.
Avoid Yaz if you have had pregnancy related jaundice or jaundice resulting from previous use of any oral contraceptives.
Avoid Yaz if you have experienced abnormal vaginal bleeding.

YAZ CAUTION

Yaz should be used with caution if you are:
-Over 40
-Smoker
-Have liver, heart, gallbladder, kidney, or thyroid disease
-Have high blood pressure
-High cholesterol
-Diabetes
-Epilepsy
-Asthma
-Porphyria
-Obese
-Stroke or heart attack in the past
-Depression
-Family history of breast cancer or other cancers
-Yaz does not protect against HIV (AIDS), or other STDs.
-If you experience abdominal pain, contact your physician right away.
-In rare cases, oral contraceptives like Yaz may cause benign liver tumors.

YAZ INTERACTION

Before taking Yaz, check with your physician if you regularly use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as Advil and Aleve, potassium supplements, water pills, and high blood pressure medications.

YAZ DOSES

Consult your physician or the instructions in the drug package. For maximum effectiveness, Yaz tablets must be taken exactly as prescribed and at intermissions not exceeding 24 hours.
