Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is native to Africa and the Mediterranean. It has a long history of usage for the treatment of wounds and burns. These days Aloe Vera is used to relieve pain and stimulate healing of burns, wounds, and sunburn. Traditionally it has been used as a beauty aid for the skin. Other traditional uses have been in treating stomach disorders, constipation, menstrual complaints, infections, herpes and skin disorders. There are over 180 different Aloe species and not all contain the same healing features.

Aloe Vera increases availability of oxygen and is thought to lead to better granulation tissue with improved vascular function. Aloe Vera may have antibacterial properties mainly in the case of Herpes viruses.

Aloe Vera side effects are rare. However, if you experience any allergic reactions or unexpected effects, stop using Aloe Vera right away. Long term usage may cause loss of minerals which in turn may result in muscular weakness.
